UPDATE Sept 5th: added a couple more creepypasta links
I am “old” enough to have discovered Creepypastas around the time I was 11-12. That was the period I was exploring the internet for the first time, but my memory’s too fuzzy to really tell when and how I learned of them. I guess, like many others, by reading people talk about them.
I’ve read the most famous ones, though maybe not all of them. I was and still am a scaredy cat, never learning that reading horror stories before going to bed is no good for my psyche!
I don’t remember all of them, but I remember my favorite one: Candle Cove! It still gives me the chills to this day.
Right before writing this small entry, I finished reading The Dionaea House, which was fantastic and definitely missing from the reads of good old teen me. Totally recommend it!
I will try and look up more creepypasta that I read in the past. My faves, at least, even to this day.
Here are a couple more creepypasta I enjoyed, back in the days:
- Ted the Caver. Many consider it among the first creepypasta, so I am linking it here.
- The Russian Sleep Experiment. Very classic, maybe not so grandiose or even controversial at best nowadays, but we were all more naive and less aware in the past.
- The Afterlife Experiment. This author would later become one of my favorites, she also wrote “Borrasca”.
